All over the place!

Now that Cole is crawling I can't keep him in one place for two seconds! His game right now is to crawl to the Christmas tree as fast as he can because he knows he is not suppossed to touch it, then when he sees me coming to get him he will laugh and scream because he thinks it is a game! It is very adorable and makes it hard to tell him that is not what he should be playing with! I took Cole to his first eye doctor appointment today for a checkup and everything looked great so the optometrist said that unless something changes his next eye appointment should be when he turns two. Cole thought it was hilarious when the assistant covered one eye then switched back and forth between them, he also tried grabbing it from her hand to taste it. And for the first time this evening Cole bit me, not on purpose but he loves to bite clothing and I didn't realize what he was doing until I felt his very sharp vampire like teeth in my collarbone! It scared and hurt me so when I screamed he starting crying because it scared him! Needless to say I have a very dark sore bruise to show for it! There is a winter storm heading for us tonight so I am glad I get to spend the day inside with Cole tomorrow! I don't think I am ready for Christmas break to end in a week and half! If I don't get to post before this weekend I hope everyone has a very happy New Year!!

Finally an update!!

I am sorry it has been almost 2 weeks since I last updated! I haven't had a computer since December 13th so it has been hard to find time using other people's computers to make the blog updates. But I am in Sioux Falls and have been up since 4am this morning with Cole (who is finally sleeping!) and since I can't go back to sleep for some reason I thought I would hop on the computer and let everyone know what is happening!

Cole finally learned to crawl!! He just took off last Monday Dec 20th and hasn't stopped since! It is so cute watching him crawl to get things he should not, such as my purse or the DVD's off shelves that I find it hard to make him stop. I am sure that novelty will wear off and it will not be so cute in a few weeks! We have also started him on Gerber yogurt bites about a week an a half ago which he loves, it only took about a day before he figured out how to move them around in his mouth and swallow them, another month or so and we'll start on the real grown up food! Cole also had his top right incisor break through all the way yesterday which makes for 7 teeth right now with one more on the bottom still trying to come through! I am hoping after these ones are all in we will get a break for a little while. He has also had no lack of love or toys the past week, we celebrated with Jason's family last Monday where he recieved some very nice toys and clothes from Grandma, Grandpa, aunt Becky and uncle Jamie. Then we drove to Sioux Falls on Wednesday and had 4 different Christmas's with all of my family! We are so thankful for all of his gifts and for everyone who loves him!

I have been enjoying my time off from school very much! This has been a great break so far and I still have two more weeks off to spend with Cole! I brought my computer in to a place that is Mac certified in Grand Forks where they discovered it was the hard drive that broke which thankfully is still covered under my one year warranty. They were also able to back up my hard drive for me for a nice $200-$300 dollars! But some of my pictures and videos on the computer are priceless so paying the money will be worth it in the long run. I will also be purchasing and external hard drive this week! Hopefully the computer will be ready by the time school starts. Jason, Cole and I are heading back to Grand Forks today since Jason has to work tomorrow but we will miss hanging out with our family down here however we will get to go back to our family in ND! I hope this updated everyone for now, I hope I can get on in the next week for another blog but until then I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and has a wonderful New Year if  I don't post before then!!

Terrible, horrible, no good very bad day!

It has been a very long and frustrating day today. As I was working on my final portfolio for one of my classes, my brand new four and half month old laptop crashed. And of course I have everything saved to that computer. After a few hours on the phone with my sister (she is wonderful) as well as the Apple tech guy I have accomplished nothing. My sister and I have come to the conclusion soley based on other examples of this happening to MacbookPro's that it is the hard drive. I will have to call Apple again tomorrow and figure out what exactly to do. There is an up side however, since it is under a year warranty I am covered for it to be replaced the worst part is none of my other items are backed up. Let this be a lesson for those of you who do not back up your data! Learn from me! But as for the final I will go to the computer labs tomorrow before my final at 10:15am and see what I can get done, and from there I will have to take the grade no matter how bad it may be.

On top of all that Cole's bottom right tooth is starting to make its way down so he has been miserable again today which means I have a feeling it is going to be a long night. I would like it to be Friday now! On a good note, Christmas is less than two weeks away which means we will get to see all of our Sioux Falls family soon!! (Cross our fingers weather permitting!)

Another tooth

Cole's bottom left tooth came through overnight and it was another long night that came along with it! I am hoping now that the one has come through he will sleep better tonight before we start with the rest that are making their way down. Cole is getting around very well the past few days and while he is not crawling on all fours yet he does know that he can make it to where he wants when he wants something! Below is a picture of what he did this weekend when I put him on the floor in our bedroom while I was getting ready, he didn't mind staying under there for a little bit but when he figured out there was nothing for him to play with he wanted out from under the bed! We did a little bit more Christmas shopping today with Becky where for the first time since I started at UND 8 years ago I learned that I get a discount as a student at the Ralph Sioux shoppe! I wish I would have known that for all the times I have bought Sioux stuff other places in town. Two more days of classes left before finals! Thank goodness!!

Weekend

We had a nice weekend at home these past few days and got some Christmas shopping done as well! Cole is such a good shopper and I feel lucky because we can take him anywhere and even when it's time for him to eat or sleep he's does not get crabby! I'm sure it will change when he can run around and take things off the shelves, but for right now I will enjoy it! We had wonderful weather up here this weekend too, no wind and in the upper 30's. If winter could be like this for the next few months I would not complain.

Moving backwards!

Cole has been moving all over the place now, he has learned how to get around backwards very well now! Last night I watched him play with the clock and his diapers that we keep under the end table in the living room and I think he would've played with them all night if he could have, he loves being able to move around now. And since he knows he can get around he has decided he does not like his exersaucer so much anymore because it makes him stay in one place! He is getting up on all fours quite a bit but still can't figure out what to do from there, I have a feeling by Christmas it will be a different story! We tried peaches tonight of which he did not care for. I tried the baby food peaches before and I thought they were very tart especially for babies so it did not surprise me that he didn't care for them, he may change his mind but for sure his favorites are banana's and pears.

Only two more weeks of classes left and I am so ready to be done with this semester! It has gone by very fast but these last two weeks are jammed packed full of homework and projects so Christmas break will be very welcomed around here!
